Motueka High School Primary Industries Trades Academy

In 2012 Kimi along with a number of local primary industry leaders and the school principal helped establish a trades academy at Motueka High School to assist in developing students to be future leaders in our key export industries. In 2013 the number of students participating in the course doubled.  Students learn about our primary industries alongside their more tradtional subjects such as english, maths and science. Being involved in this project  has been very rewarding for Kimi as it helps to deliver increased skill, capability and productivity through young talented people for our regional economy.  Kimi is also working with Motueka High School  on a building and construction trades academy and is also committed to helping establish another primary industries trades academy in association with Golden Bay High School. The key to this work is to ensure that these academies are developed with industry for industry.

Kia ora Kimi

Dion Te Momo completed his Degree in Information Technology in 2010.  He came to Kimi seeking assistance with CV preparation and employment support.  Kimi placed him through a number of interview coaching sessions and we provided assistance putting together a great CV.  We are pleased to advise that he has taken up a role doing what he is passionate about, Website Development.  This is what he had to say;

"It was great to get help working on interview skills and getting a CV together. It was very beneficial doing the practice interviews as it pointed out some things I needed to work on. Getting my CV out and about was also very cool! Been awhile since I needed to apply for a job so all the help was greatly appreciated. I've now got a job thanks to Kimi. Kia Ora Kimi!"
